QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or its equivalent, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  2. High degree of proficiency in office procedures, office electronics and machines including clerical support such as paper and electronic filing, Cisco IP phone systems, video conferencing and other general office equipment.
  3. Knowledge and practical experience regarding basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and Google Applications
  4. Knowledge and practical experience regarding use of QuickBooks Pro program including budgeting components of software
  5. Ability to quickly master the use of new management software and virtual office software solutions.
  6. Must maintain confidentiality at all times.
  7. Two year’s bookkeeping experience required.
  8. Must clear fiduciary bond underwriting requirements for job placement.
  9. Ability to handle in-office retail sales and phone inquiries.
  10. Knowledge and practical experience beyond basic bookkeeping.
  11. Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations.
  12. Familiar with computer networks and data backup procedures.
  13. Be of high moral character and good attendance record.
  14. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  15. Polite, courteous and tactful with the vendors, customers, and public.

REPORTS TO/EVALUATIONS:      Executive Director / Annual evaluations by the Executive Director

JOB GOALS: To assure the smooth, efficient and accurate operation of an advanced technology organization so that the office’s maximum positive impact on the operations can be realized.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Keep office open during designated office hours.
  2. Facilitate in-office retail sales and phone inquiries.
  3. Prepare invoices, check extensions, make bill list and write checks for general fund and special fund accounts.
  4. Reconcile bank statements and payroll records.
  5. Check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers and prepare reports for public accountant.
  6. Process invoices and statements; issue and track purchase orders; maintain and file sales tax reports.
  7. Operate computers, scanners, calculators and any other office machines.
  8. Open and sort all mail.
  9. Create and maintain all accounting reports and records.
  10. Prepare and maintain Board meeting documents and records
  11. Proficient in all standard software programs as listed in Qualifications
  12. Proficient in learning new computer software programs.
  13. Coordination with Operations, Virtual Office employees and contractors
  14. Process and track all return merchandise authorizations (RMA)
  15. Track and inventory all equipment received, returned, and dispatched to sites
  16. Collaborate on creating and maintaining fiscal budgets
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

SGRITA is a public technology authority located in Arlington, Georgia that provides broadband Internet access, VoIP and other information technology services to government, educational, commercial and residential clients throughout a seven County region. A major responsibility of this position is to maintain the fiscal security of the organization through collaboration in budgeting, cash management, asset management, revenue and expense tracking and financial reporting. This organization relies exclusively on information technologies for all office operations. Therefore, another major responsibility is maintaining modern management information systems. The ability to quickly adopt new software applications is a major requirement. The ability to effectively coordinate employee and contractor schedules to insure efficient operations is a requirement. This position interacts with employees, board members, vendors, customers, and the general public so excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Employment at will; Eight (8) hours per day, 5 days per week with normal holidays and personal days; Salary and benefits per negotiated agreement.
